Jon Parsons

DO MSc PGCE, Osteopath

After a successful career as an export manager for a chemical company Jon experienced osteopathy as a patient and decided to train for a new career as an osteopath. A Maidstone osteopath Jon graduated from the European School of Osteopathy (ESO) in 1989. Since then he has pursued a successful clinical role at the Bower Mount Clinic as well as being International Head of Department at the ESO for many years responsible for the training of osteopaths in over eleven countries. Jon is a published author and has a master’s degree in osteopathy and a Post Graduate Certificate in Higher Education (PGCHE). Jon is highly experienced in all forms of osteopathic practice.

Carl Norris

DO MOst Osteopath

Carl graduated from the European School of Osteopathy and has since worked in private practice, the NHS and osteopathic education. Last year he completed his PGcert in Clinical and Academic Education and began his role as a clinic tutor. and now supervises undergraduate students in their osteopathic education. He recently began training to become a Postural Stability Instructor with an aim to work in the community to reduce the risk of falls amongst the elderly.

Carl uses the entire scope of osteopathic approaches in his treatment including his specialist interest area of visceral manipulation used in cases of heartburn, constipation and some breathing difficulties. From his wide clinical experience Carl will frequently incorporate exercises and lifestyle advice to help his patients manage their pain and speed up their recovery.

Craig Minto

MBAcC, Acupuncturist

Craig is the former (2008-13) Principal and Director of Clinic of the International College of Oriental Medicine, one of Europe’s leading and oldest acupuncture training institutions. Here, students study a 3 year BSc Hons degree in acupuncture, validated by the University of Greenwich.

Craig is a PGCE qualified teacher and former Chair of the ‘Council for Heads of Acupuncture Courses’ the national forum for heads of accredited acupuncture courses. He currently holds the academic position of ‘External Examiner’ as part of the QAA process for the University of Kingston and their BSc Hons Degree in acupuncture award for the College of Integrated Chinese Medicine, Reading.

He has been in private practice since 2000, after undertaking a 4 year training course in acupuncture and western medicine. He is a registered practitioner with the acupuncture profession’s lead body the British Acupuncture Council, and has worked in a variety of multi-disciplinary settings, including 5 years in a local GP practice (Sundridge Medical Practice, Bromley).

Judith Roomes

ITEC.DIP, Massage therapist

Judith is a fully qualified massage therapist with fourteen years’ experience. She holds an ITEC Diploma in anatomy, physiology and massage and an Advanced Soft Tissue and Remedial Massage qualification. Judith also holds an ITEC Diploma in Stress Massage and qualifications in Muscle Energy Testing and Soft Tissue Releases.

Hilary White

MSTAT, Alexander Technique teacher

Hilary first had Alexander lessons in 1985 to improve her own posture and breathing which often deteriorated towards the end of each school term. As a head teacher she discovered that Alexander’s principles were transformative, not only in stressful situations but in the minutiae of daily life.

Before qualifying as an Alexander Technique teacher, Hilary studied Anatomy, Physiology and Massage, Reiki, Bowen Technique and Life Coaching; skills that helped expand her awareness of psychophysical approaches to healing processes.

Brian Walklett

BSc (Hons) Ost DO Osteopath

After completing an Honours degree and qualifying as an Osteopath in 1997 Brian studied for a PGC in education and an Advanced Osteopathic Medicine Masters degree. Yet another Maidstone osteopath Brian ran his own practice before going to New Zealand to work. On his return Brian worked as an Osteopathic Lecturer and Tutor both in the UK and abroad.

Running his own Practice for many years combined with his role as an examiner, teacher researcher and sportsman has enabled Brian to develop as a multi-skilled practitioner using a diversity of techniques from the totally structural approach to the softer functional and cranial approaches.

Samantha Webb

BSc (Hons) MOst Osteopath

Sam graduated from the British School of Osteopathy with a master’s degree in Osteopathy in 2012 and then came to work at the clinic. She became interested in osteopathy after experiencing the successful effects of osteopathic treatment on her horse! Sam wanted to be able to help both people and animals in the same way and this led to her osteopathic career. She has now completed a post graduate qualification in animal osteopathy. Sam takes a special interest in sports men and women as well as the treatment of more senior members of the community.

Emma Goffe

MOst DPO Osteopath

Emma was inspired to become an osteopath after many years observing the beneficial effects of osteopathic treatment on her and other members of her family. She gained her Master in Osteopathy from the European School of Osteopathy in 2011, and has experience of working in a variety of practices and specialised clinics including those dealing with expectant mothers, older patients, and babies and children. She is currently working as part of the team at the Osteopathic Centre for Children in London.

Emma uses a variety of different approaches in her treatments, including the “traditional” largely articulatory approach with soft tissue work and appropriate joint mobilisation as well as gentle cranial and functional approaches. She particularly enjoys the opportunity to treat infants and children.

Emma is able to use many different approaches to benefit a wide range of different conditions in patients of all ages. She is continually enhancing her skills to allow her to offer the best treatment for all the patients under her care.

Kelly Chambers

BA (Hons), Dip. Couns, Psychotherapeutic Counsellor

Kelly is a Psychotherapeutic Counsellor trained in Transactional Analysis. TA helps us examine our interactions and provides a framework to help achieve personal growth and change. Kelly has a wealth of experience having worked in the London Counselling service for clients with wide-ranging issues such as anxiety and relationship difficulties, with children and families in the voluntary sector with a particular interest in addressing the impact of illness (both physical and mental health) on the individual and the associated family members. Kelly has also provided counselling for the last 7 years in a rehabilitation centre for issues of addiction and in private practice in Maidstone. Kelly is bound by a strict code of professional practice and is a member of The European Association of Transactional Analysis and The International Association for Relational Transactional Analysis. All counselling sessions are treated as strictly confidential.

About us

We are a family-run friendly Clinic established over 30 years ago as a centre of excellence for the treatment of musculoskeletal conditions. We focus on a patient centred approach offering our patients an integrated approach to a wide range of conditions.

Our experienced practitioners offer a wide range of treatments including Osteopathy, Acupuncture, Alexander Technique (for postural re-education) Counselling and Psychotherapy, and Remedial Massage.

The Bower Mount Clinic also has practitioners with a special interest in the care of expectant mothers and children as well as a sports clinic run by a practitioner trained in Osteopathy, sports coaching, and pilates.
